Refreshing Mist is the only product in our range that exists purely for the pleasure of scent. It is a light coat fragrance for dogs – a dog perfume, if you like – for the moments that matter: before guests arrive, before a car ride, before the evening cuddle on the sofa. Its two notes are yuzu and white musk.
What is yuzu?
Yuzu (Citrus junos) is a small, knobbly citrus fruit from East Asia, grown widely in Japan. It is rarely eaten like an orange; its juice and zest are prized for their aroma, which sits somewhere between grapefruit, mandarin and lime, with a floral lift no other citrus quite has.
In a fragrance, yuzu is the note you smell first. It opens bright and sparkling the moment the mist touches the coat.
What is “white musk”?
Musk was once taken from animals. Modern perfumery has long since moved away from that. Our musk comes from ambrette seed, the seed of Abelmoschus moschatus, a plant in the hibiscus family that is cultivated in India. Its seeds carry a soft, warm, slightly fruity musk scent.
“White musk” describes the effect: clean, soft and skin-close, like warm laundry or the inside of a jumper. It is the part of the scent that lingers long after the yuzu has lifted.

Why light matters in a dog perfume
A dog’s sense of smell is many times more sensitive than ours. A heavy perfume that you find pleasant across a room is something your dog lives inside all day. So Refreshing Mist is built to be light:
- A water base, not alcohol. It carries the fragrance through the coat and evaporates clean. What’s out of it: alcohol in harmful concentrations, synthetic fragrance, synthetic preservatives, parabens and heavy fragrance allergens.
- IFRA-compliant and made for daily use, as a leave-on formula.
- Panthenol, betaine and aloe vera sit alongside the scent, so the mist is kind to the coat.
The goal is a scent you notice when your face is in your dog’s neck – present enough to be noticed, light enough to layer.
How to use it
Hold the bottle 25 cm from the coat and apply 3–5 sprays over the back and flanks. Let it settle naturally; don’t rub it in. It dries into the coat within seconds. Avoid the eyes and mouth. It is formulated for dogs and is not suitable for cats.
A fragrance, not a fix
A mist freshens a clean coat. It will not fix the cause of a smell that keeps coming back – a damp undercoat, ears, skin or teeth. If your dog smells soon after a bath, read why your dog still smells after a bath first. For a coat that is stale between baths, the Dry Foam Shampoo cleans before you scent.
Wondering whether a dog perfume is a good idea at all? We cover that in is dog perfume safe?
Where it fits
After a walk, it finishes the After-Walk Duo with the Paw Cleaner. Before a walk, pair it with Defense in the Fresh Walk Duo. Between baths, it follows the Dry Foam Shampoo in the Between-Baths Duo.
