Who writes the journal
Our authors
Journal articles are published under the names of our two veterinarians: Dr. Kopal Chandra (Veterinarian & Professional Pet Care and Boarding Specialist) and Dr. Santana Chaudhury (Senior Veterinarian & Animal Rescuer). Every article ends with an “About the authors” section.
Who it is for
Dog and cat owners in India. We write about grooming, coat and skin care, and the seasons that shape them here - monsoon, summer heat, winter smog, Diwali.

How we handle claims
Product facts come from the packaging
Ingredients, directions, sizes and claims for our products are taken from the printed cartons. If an article and a carton ever disagree, the carton is right and we correct the article.
Grooming is not treatment
Our products are grooming products, not medicines. We do not claim they treat skin conditions, infections, ticks already attached, hair loss or anxiety, and articles say plainly when something is a job for a vet.
Evidence
Where we describe research, we say what kind it is and keep human, laboratory and veterinary evidence separate. Standards such as ISO 16128-2 and IFRA are described for what they measure, not as a promise of safety.

How articles are produced
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help research, outline or draft. A person checks every article before it is published, with particular care over the details AI tools are known to get subtly wrong: numbers, directions, ingredient names and who said what. AI tools are never the final editor.
Images
Some illustrative photographs in the journal are AI-generated. Product photographs show our real products.
Commercial interest
Furrytail makes and sells the products our articles mention, and we link to them. We say what each product is for and what it is not for, and we recommend a vet, a groomer or another approach when that is the better answer.

Updates and corrections
Dates
Every article shows its publish date, and an “Updated” date when its content changes.
